Patricia M. Pulliam sadly passed away on July 10, 2016, in Bradenton, Fla. For the past 12 years, Patti battled the most severe form of Rheumatoid Arthritis and its many side effects. Patti was predeceased by her son, Michael J. Pulliam, 25, from a motorcycle accident in Roanoke, Va. She was the daughter of the late Ret. Police Lt. John J.Cronin and Gertrude E. (Callahan) Cronin.
Patti was a 1974 graduate of Gloucester High School, where among other activities, she was a member of the rifle team. She went on to attend and graduate from Marymount University in Virginia where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She then worked in various Northern Virginia hospitals including Fairfax Hospital, where she was a member of Dr. Lefrak's Cardiac Surgery Heart Transplant Team. Patti also worked at Fair Oaks Hospital VA as charge nurse for out-patient surgery. Patti was an accomplished nurse who liked working with her colleagues and patients.
She eventually moved from Virginia to Bradenton, Fla., where she fell in love with the area. She enjoyed living on a waterway and especially enjoyed all the new friends she made and the relaxed life style.
Patti is survived by her daughter, Laurin McCord and her husband, Sgt. Blake McCord, U.S. Army; and her much-loved grandchildren, five-year-old grandson, Connor McCord and three-year-old granddaughter, Gwen McCord, all of San Antonio, Texas. Patti greatly enjoyed daily facetiming with her precious grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, MaryAnn Cronin-Tretter and her husband, Horst and her niece, Natascha Tretter of Gloucester; Katie Bock and her husband, Gregory; niece, Krysia (Bock) Angle and her husband, Lt. Commander Jon Angle, US Navy, all of Herndon, Va. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas J. Cronin and his wife, Geraldine of Gloucester, Mass. Patti also had some wonderful, supportive friends including Renee and Marion Winokur of Bradenton, Fla., and her lifelong friend, Barbara Grant of Marshfield, Mass.
On the occasion of Patti's 60th birthday, Masses are being celebrated in both Herndon, Va., and at the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Nov. 12, 2016, at Sacred Heart Church, in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.
As Patti was a lifelong animal lover and pet owner, expressions of rememberance may be made in her name to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930.
