Paula's Story

SALEM: Paula M. (Walkama) Keaney, 54, of Salem, passed away suddenly on Tuesday at North Shore Medical Center Union Hospital.

Paula was born December 15, 1961, daughter of the late Arthur F. and Pauline (Edmonds) Walkama. She was a resident of Salem and previously resided in Lynn and Gloucester. She was a graduate of Gloucester High School and went on to North Shore Community College where she received her Associates degree in Marketing.

She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Walgreens and AC Moore. Paula previously worked as a Para in the Lynn School Department.

Paula was a kind soul who treasured her family and friends. She was a gentle, sweet woman who will be missed by all who loved her. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and card games.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth G. Keaney of Troy, N.Y.; her brothers and sisters, Cheryl Duwart and her husband, Jack of Fruitland Park, Fla., Susanne Murphy and her husband, Robert of Peabody, Deborah Barnes and her husband, Ted of Gloucester, Annette Walker and her husband, Dan of Danvers, Wayne Walkama of Middleton, Janice Marques and her husband, Luis of Seabrook, N.H. and Mark Walkama and his wife Shelley of Gloucester. She is also survived by many niece and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by two sisters Cynthia Curley and Charlene M. King and a nephew Keith Duwart.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Paula’s visiting hours in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Tuesday evening, December 29, 2015 from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be a prayer service on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Graveside Services will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eastern Ave., Gloucester on Wednesday at 2 PM.
