Phyllis's Story

GLOUCESTER: Mrs. Phyllis A. (Lisaj) LeClaire, 80, of Gloucester passed away Saturday November 21, 2015, in the Golden Living Center after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Edward J. “Buzzy” LeClaire.

Phyllis was born April 4, 1935, in Salem. She is the daughter of the late Kazimierz A. and Helen (Piecewicz) Lisaj. She was a resident of Gloucester for many years and previously resided in Salem, where she was also a graduate of Salem High School.

Phyllis did many different things for work, but her true passion was working as a nanny, which she did for many years.

She was known as Babcia by everyone. Phyllis was a hard-working person, who was always there for her family and who had a heart of gold. She will be missed by all who loved her.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Michelle Naves of St. Petersburg, Fla.; her son, James LeClaire and his wife, Susan of Danvers; her nine grandchildren, Erica LeClaire Shank and her husband, Ira, Danielle LeClair Osier and her husband, Phillip, Josh LeClaire and his wife, Ashley, Bryan LeClaire and his wife, Stefanie Goulart LeClaire, Jason LeClaire and his wife, Wendy, Addam LeClaire, James LeClaire, Jr., Lindsey LeClaire, and also Rachael Naves of St. Petersburg, Fla.; her nine great-grandchildren, Travis, Tristan, Tyler, Teagan, GeorgiaMay, Alexa, Ryan, Addison, and Ariella. She is also survived by her special, dear extended family, Wayne and Lisa Lawrence and their children, Alexandra, Andrew and his wife, Molly, and Elizabeth Lawrence of Beverly Farms; her former son-in-law, Richard Naves, and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Edward C. LeClaire and Donald R. LeClaire. As well as sister of the late Florence Winiarz.

Phyllis’ Funeral Mass will be on Saturday morning, December 5, 2015, in Saint John the Baptist Church, 28 St. Peter Street, Salem, MA at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be on Friday evening, December 4, 2015, in the Pike-Newhall Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, from 5 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
