Ralph M.'s Story
Ralph M. Perry, 79, husband of the late Barbara J. (DeWolfe) Perry, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
Born in Gloucester on January 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Raymond and Madeline (Osier) Perry.
He was a graduate of Gloucester High School, Class of 1956 and served as a Reservist in the U.S. Army.
Ralph worked as a plumber for Andrews Plumbing and later with Bob Cloutman. For many years he was employed by the Gloucester School System. Ralph was a lifelong member of the Pipefitters and Plumbers Union.
Ralph was a very kind man and always willing to help others. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He was a member of the St. Jude’s Fund Raising Organization, Fishtown Horribles Parade Committee, Boy Scout Troop 56, and GHS Class of 56 reunion committee.
He is survived by his two sons, Raymond Perry and wife, Lori of Pelham, N.H., and their daughters, Courtney and husband, Nicholas DelCore of Yorktown, Va., and Shannen of Pelham, N.H.; and Glenn Perry and wife, Pamela and their sons, Alex and Jack of Round Rock, Texas; his sister, Charlotte Dodge; his brother, Kenneth Perry; his aunt, Doris Laubenstein; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Charles Dodge and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Perry.
A graveside service will be held in Calvary Cemetery on Tuesday, May 23 at 10 a.m. Extended family and friends are cordially invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
