Roscoe P. "Rocky"'s Story

Mr. Roscoe P. “Rocky” Knowles, 81, of Essex passed away on Sunday morning, September 10, 2017 in Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Sharon A. (McPeck) Knowles.
Roscoe was born May 9, 1936 in Gloucester. He is the son of the late Parker B. and Evelyn M. (Fifth) Knowles. He was a resident of Gloucester for most of his life before moving to Essex. He was a graduate of Gloucester Schools.
He worked as a supervisor of the Inspection Department at Data Printer in Cambridge and Malden for several years. He previously worked on the Gloucester Waterfront in his earlier years.
Rocky enjoyed riding his motorcycle, he would often enjoy traveling to New Hampshire as well as Florida on his bike. He lived life to the fullest and had a great sense of humor. He was also an avid Red Sox fan as well as a regular at the Cupboard Restaurant in Gloucester.
He was a member of the Battery A National Guard in Gloucester.
He is survived by his children, Timothy Knowles and his fiancé Brenda Lee of Rockport, Tracey Knowles of West Virginia, Mike Knowles and his wife, Jade of Trenton, Maine and Frederick Longo of Florida. His brother Donald Knowles and his wife, Sylvia of Gloucester. His loving grandchildren, Johnathan, Cristina and Jadelle Knowles and Jason Longo. His great-granddaughter Imogen Knowles. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Darrell Robinson and his longtime companion Deborah Neal who took care of Roscoe.
He was predeceased by his son, John Knowles, his brother, Robert “Stubby” Knowles and his sisters Karen Cabral and Marilyn Galant.
Roscoe’s Graveside Service will be in Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Ave Gloucester on Saturday morning, September 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. For online condolences and register book please visit www.pikenewhall.com
