Ruth M. (Kime)'s Story
Ruth M. (Kime) Schultz Clune, age 93, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester. She was the wife of the late William F. Schultz and John B. Clune.
Ruth was born in Renovo, Pa., daughter of Elmer E. Kime and Mary (Adams) Kime and was raised on a chicken farm in Montoursville, Pa. She attended Lycoming College until she went to work for the war effort at Avco. In 1950 she married the love of her life, William F. Schultz.
In 1958 Bill and Ruth moved to Hamilton, where they raised their four children. She enjoyed a wide circle of friends, playing bridge, going to the beach with her family, and was very involved in the First Church of Wenham and her community. Her generous spirit kept her involved in many volunteer activities, including schools, her church, delivering Meals on Wheels, driving cancer patients for treatment, and welcoming new neighbors with baked goods. After the passing of Bill Schultz in 1976 Ruth showed her strength and resilience through continuing her involvement in the community. Her children appreciate that she always encouraged them to pursue their interests.
In 1982, Ruth married John Clune. They enjoyed many years of travel and spending time with grandchildren who have very fond memories of John and Ruth.
She is survived by her son, John W. Schultz and his wife, Michelle of Marstons Mills; three daughters, Mary C. Reed and her husband, Bruce of Rockport, Barbara A. Bresnahan and husband, Richard of Wilmington and Carol A. Woodbury and husband, Ronald of St. Paul, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Michael DeRosa and his wife, Robyn, Andrew DeRosa, Story Reed and wife, Bridgit, Kate Bresnahan, Jen Bresnahan, Becca Woodbury and Krista Bresnahan; two great grandchildren, Brady DeRosa and Maggie Reed; a nephew, Thomas Nau. She was predeceased by a sister, Rebecca K. Nau and a niece, Patricia Oechler.
Ruth’s family wishes to thank the employees of Seacoast for their kindness and exceptional care.
