Thomas A.'s Story
Thomas A. Thibodeau Jr., 92, of Gloucester, passed away in the Golden Living Center, Gloucester, after a brief illness. Thomas was born in Washington, D.C. on June 1, 1924, the son of the late Thomas A. and Sophia (Wonson) Thibodeau. He attended Washington, D.C. public schools until he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served proudly during WWII. He enjoyed going to Maine and picking blueberries at his “secret spot." When his father passed away, he stayed in Gloucester for 10 plus years helping his mother until she passed on. Tom was a very private person, and he led his life the way he wanted, quietly and peacefully.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Brockenbrough and her husband, Roger of Pa.; his sister, Janet Supp of Va.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Muriel Chesley.
His graveside service will be held in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 25 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Gloucester, on Thursday August 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited. There are no visiting hours. Contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St., Gloucester, MA.
