Agnes "Dolly" Provost Obituary
Gloucester - Agnes "Dolly" (Longo) Provost, of Gloucester, MA, passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 20, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Gloucester on May 26, 1944, she was the youngest of eight children born to the late Dominico Longo and Sarah (McAllister) Longo, and the beloved wife of the late Donald L. Provost and Paul F. Kluge.
Dolly graduated from Gloucester High School in 1962 and was a lifelong resident of Cape Ann.
Dolly loved working with and interacting with the public. Whether it was at LePages, the accountant office of Dean Currier, the Town of Rockport treasurer's office, Petra Fashions and lastly Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She loved getting to know and making connections with the residents and their families as well as her coworkers.
Some of Dolly's happiest moments were spent going to bingo, playing cards, doing puzzles and bowling, especially when surrounded by family and friends. These times reflected their love for connection and the simple joys of being together.
Dolly is survived by her children, James Kluge and his wife Linda of Rockport; Lisa Hartwell-Jones and her husband Leon of Gloucester; and Patti Tucker and her husband Kenneth of Rockport. She leaves her cherished grandchildren: Jason Kluge of Portsmouth, NH; Paul Hartwell and his wife Samantha of Gloucester; Steffen Hartwell-Jones and his wife Katie of Rockport; Katelyn Tucker of Rockport; Carolyn Smith and husband Ben of Rockport; and Matthew Tucker of Rockport and great-grandchildren Micheal and soon to be baby Smith. She was a proud aunt to many nieces and nephews, especially Theresa Moceri and Sandy Mansfield.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was predeceased by her siblings, Charles, Mary, Tina, Alphonse "Sonny", Dominic "Dick", Joseph, and Sarah; And her beloved grandson David Kluge.
Her family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care, especially Josie Cary.
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend visiting hours at Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
