Anthony J. "Tony" Pallazola Obituary

Gloucester - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony "Tony" Pallazola on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Kaplan Family House, surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years old.

Born on September 28, 1939, Tony was a self-made master of all trades. A skilled carpenter, electrician, and plumber, he could fix anything and everything he touched. He took pride in providing a beautiful home for his family, and his dedication, work ethic, and hands-on approach made him a dependable figure to all who knew him.

Tony began his career as a Maintenance Technician at Mighty Mac in Gloucester, where his commitment and skill were evident. In 1980, he became Facilities Director at Axcelis Corporation, a position he held for over 25 years, leaving a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

A passionate animal lover, Tony always had at least one dog, and over the years, he bred, raised, and showed tropical fish, canaries, and parakeets, earning numerous trophies at bird shows. Yet, his greatest love was the water. From his childhood days paddling down the Annisquam River with his brother Joe in a makeshift dory they built themselves—crafted from old plywood, studs, and steel nails that frequently rusted and needed replacing—to cruising the East Coast on his boats, Tony found his happiest moments on the water. Fishing, cruising, or anchoring off Wingaersheek and Cranes Beaches surrounded by family and friends—these were the times he cherished most.

Tony's life was rich with love and laughter, shared with his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his special bond with his Uncle Busty and Aunt Florence. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Anne (Orlando) Pallazola, his brother Joseph Pallazola, his sister, Josephine A. "Dolly" (Pallazola) Galante, and his brother-in-law, Capt. Joseph Giacalone.

Tony is survived by his ex-wife, Ann (Hilliard) Nichols, with whom he raised five children; Annmarie Day of California, and her children Melissa, Deandra, and Justin; Anthony Pallazola and his wife Trish of Florida, and their children Erika, Taylor, Tara, and Sami; Michael J. Pallazola and his wife Wendy of Gloucester, and their sons Christian, Anthony, and Mikey; John Pallazola and his wife, Claudia of Florida, and their sons Johnathan and Dylan; Michelle Pallazola of New Hampshire, and her children, Brendan, Rowan, Ben, and Anna

He is also survived by his sister, Marie (Pallazola) Giacalone, his sister-in-law Josephine "Josie" Pallazola, his brother-in-law Paul Galante, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tony's warmth, humor, and love for life were gifts to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to call him their own.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. followed by a Service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
