Rockport - Anthony "Tony" Pino, the loving husband of Susan Pino, passed away on November 4, 2019, at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington. Tony was the son of the late John and Muriel (Barrett) Pino, and stepmother to the late Ruth (Chandler) Pino. Growing up on Granite Street with his closest ally and cousin, the late Richard Pino, they could be found in the Hovey woods sharing a cigarette or scheming, of some sort, during any school day. Tony was born with a natural pool cue in his hand. In his teen years, he could be found at Nicks Pool Room any day of the week. If he were not playing pool he would be in the North End, boxing. Tony's love of pool continued every Wednesday with his close childhood friends, Steven Thompson and Paul Vassallo.
Anthony attended Gloucester High School. As the Vietnam Conflict began, Tony had a calling to enlist in the United States Marine Corp where he and Tom Horn became the best of friends. Being a proud Marine he was awarded the Purple Heart. As years passed and the Vietnam memories faded for all those not involved in the conflict, Anthony found a new brotherhood with his friends at the Veterans' Center. He truly respected every one of them and looked forward to seeing them.
Upon an honorable discharge from the Marine Corp, Tony was employed at United Shoe. After many years of service, Tony retired from the Rockport Police Department. Most days in recent years Tony could be found in his work room tinkering with his tools, making an array of wooden items, most recently his art box. Most people did not know he was an accomplished sketch artist.
Tony is survived by his three daughters, Kimberley (Pino) Downie and husband Michael of Danvers, Kristen Pino and Dan Rapp, Katie (Pino) Graham all of Rockport, Lincoln Meyers of Newmarket, N.H, his step children Brooke (Noble) Gray and husband Chris, and Brandan Noble. His grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob Downie, Kaidin and Isabella Rapp, Anthony and Benjamin Graham, stepgrandchildren, Jonathan and Matthew Gray, Griffin, Cameron and Ryder Noble.
His sister Joanne (Pino) Curcuru and husband, Dana, sister-in-law, Ruth (Carroll) Pino, wife of the late Richard Pino. His close friends, Steve Thompson and Paul Vassallo and many nieces and nephews.
Tony was predeceased by his newborn twin sons, John and Robert Pino.
Keeping with Tony's wishes there will be no services. Donations in Tony's name can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester. Online condolences may be given at:

Tony taught me many valuable lessons while working on the job at Rockport PD. He always had my safety in mind and showed me how to stay safe in certain situations. Tony always had our backs and I am proud to have served with him...
