Lynnfield - Carol S. Judd, 82, of Lynnfield, formerly of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 1, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Hans Frederick Schaefer, Jr. and Louise Hale Baldwin.

Carol was a graduate of Boston University and built a distinguished career as a Certified Public Accountant, practicing in both California and Massachusetts. She spent many years living in California before returning to the North Shore.

In her earlier years, Carol enjoyed racing cars on amateur tracks, reflecting her adventurous spirit. After returning to Rockport, she spent several years delivering fresh fish door-to-door and became a trusted local resource for seafood.

Carol was known for her lively personality, her sharp wit, and her gift for a clever turn of phrase. She was especially fond of her nephews, and she and her husband Pete treasured time spent with them on trips to southern Maine and outings on their boat. She also had a deep love for animals and cherished her cats—Roger, Peanut, and Zekee—over the years.

She is survived by her sister, Ellen Velline and her husband, Chris; her nephews, Nick Schaefer and Rob Schaefer and his wife Alyson; several cousins; and members of her late husband Pete's family.

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter Judd, and her brother, Tom Schaefer.
