Gloucester - Carole J. Wetmore, 74, a longtime Gloucester resident, died Wednesday morning, August 3, 2022.
Born in Gloucester on August 20, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Doris (Griffin) Sawler. She was raised and educated in Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School.
Carole was employed for Varian for 26 years until the time of her retirement.
A loving mother and grandmother, she loved hosting friends and family on the Fourth of July for the Fishtown Horribles Parade.
She leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and James Moroney of Danvers, and two grandchildren, Garrett and Jillian Moroney. She was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Sawler.
Her funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 3 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are prior to the service from 1 to 2:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oakes Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
