Gloucester - Catherine M. (Crowley) Morrissey, 89, of Gloucester, wife of the late Robert J. Morrissey, passed away on Tues., Sept. 10, 2019, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. She was born in Gloucester on Aug. 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Lida A. (McNulty) Crowley. Catherine graduated Gloucester High School with the class of 1949, and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Boston University.
Catherine loved spending time with family and enjoyed painting watercolors. She belonged to Rockport Art Assoc. and Newburyport Art Assoc., and studied with Margaret Laurie taking annual painting trips to Monhegan Island, Maine. She also loved to sew and knit, and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens.
Catherine is survived by her son, Patrick M. Morrissey and his wife, Sheron I. Morrissey; her daughter, Rebecca M. Morrissey; her son-in-law, Simon A. Twalipo; and her grandchildren, Renisha Smith, ReSean Smith, Renee Smith, Benjamin Twalipo, Sabina Twalipo, Devine Wiley, and Asante Twalipo.
A memorial Mass for Catherine will be held on Sat., Sept. 21, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ann's Church at 74 Pleasant St. in Gloucester. Burial will be held privately.

So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She always welcomed kids in her home and had a smile for all. I’m out of state at the time of the service. Sorry I’ll miss it. Love to all.
