Gloucester - Charles "Chuck" L. Wagenseil, 62, of Gloucester, longtime companion of Judith Salah Plank, passed away on Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2019, at his residence.
He was born in Queens, New York on December 23, 1956, son of the late Robert and Marie (Berg) Wagenseil.
Charles spent his youth in Huntington, Long Island, but he would not be confined there, finding adventure across the globe. Over the course of his life, Charles lived as a firefighter, small business owner, pilot, and sailor. He was a man of many talents, who brought joy and companionship to those he touched in every stage of his life.
Charles will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Wagenseil and wife Shelby, Peter Wagenseil, Paul Wagensail and his wife Kristen; three grandchildren, Tucker, Aubrey and Paul Jr.; step-children, Zoe and Max Plank; his sister, Elise John and her husband Roger; his brother, Fr. Robert Wagenseil and his wife Patricia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a brother, William "Billy" Wagenseil.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal services.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Emerson Inn in Rockport, Mass., on Sunday, September 29, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Caring For A Cure, a Mass General nurses initiative @ MGH.
