Chester A. Brigham Obituary

Gloucester - Gloucester - Chester A. Brigham, 91, died peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at his home.

When Chet's parents built a cottage on Goose Cove in 1938 it was the beginning of his lifelong love of Gloucester. After graduation from Colby College Phi Beta Kappa in 1950, four years of military service during the Korean War, and years of freelancing as a business writer in Connecticut, he and his wife Anthea returned to the house on Goose Cove. There he wrote five books on Gloucester maritime history and art, drawing heavily on archival materials in the Cape Ann Museum.

He was a member of the Annisquam Yacht Club, the Boston Writers' Club and the Boston Phi Beta Kappa Club.

He was predeceased by ten days by his beloved wife, Anthea.
