Rockport - Rockport - Cynthia L. Brewer, 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Born in Gloucester on July 14, 1955, she was the cherished daughter of the late Francis and Eleanor (Kangas) Clark and the devoted wife and high school sweetheart of the late Benjamin Brewer, who passed in 2009.

A lifelong resident of Gloucester—and later, Rockport—Cindy attended Gloucester Public Schools and began her professional life at Liberty Mutual Insurance in Boston. She eventually returned to her hometown, where she found joy in driving school buses for Child Development (now Pathways) and later served many years at Gloucester City Hall.

Cindy found happiness in life's simple pleasures—spending time with family, camping at White Lake State Park, watching the stars, and feeding any wildlife that wandered by. Her love for music was ever-present, especially her fondness for The Beach Boys, Journey, and classic rock.

In her later years, Cindy became a beloved part of the Oceanside Rehab and Nursing Center community in Rockport. There, she was more than a resident—she was a leader, helper, and friend. As the right hand to Jen Fuller, Activities Director, and President of the Resident Council, Cindy was instrumental in organizing games, crafts, and seasonal activities. Her energy and joy were infectious, often rallying others to join in and brightening every room she entered.

Cindy is survived by her loving daughters: Kelly Clark and her fiancé Alec Jepson of Ipswich, Katie Brewer of Meriden, CT, and Keri Brewer and her wife India of Gloucester. She was a proud nana to Jason, John, and Felix of Ipswich, and Quinn of Gloucester. She also leaves behind her nephew Andrew Wagner and his fiancée Jamee Smith of Gloucester; great-nephew Connor Wagner of Gloucester; cousins Alice Nelson of Gloucester and Marcia VanKuren of Ohio; as well as many dear friends including Ida Scola, Maria Lovett, Robin Jacobs, Kathy and Karen Swinson, and Sally Barber. She will be deeply missed by her Oceanside family, the many friends she made throughout her life, and her special grand-puppy, Maze.

In addition to her parents and husband, Cindy was predeceased by her sister, Linda Wagner, uncle Arthur Kangas, and aunts Sophie Evans and Barbara Kangas.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 23rd at 11am at Beech Grove Cemetery, Rockport. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
