David C. Halverson Obituary

Gloucester - David (Ciaramitaro) Halverson, 81, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 11th.

David was born in Gloucester on June 14th, 1944, to the late Marion (Fairweather) and Michael Ciaramitaro. He attended Gloucester public schools, graduating in 1962. He went into the US Army, honorably serving from 1963-1966, during which time he was stationed in Korea. He worked at Gloucester Engineering for 39 years, retiring in 2006. After retirement, he was able to pursue his passion for golf. He was a past member of Bass Rocks Golf Club, Cape Ann Golf Club, Myakka Pines Golf Club in Florida, and most recently, Rockport Golf Club.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Elaine (Fretwell) Halverson; son, Matthew and his wife Lindsay (O'Connell)Halverson ; grandsons, Timothy and Oliver Halverson of Rockport; son, Jonathan Halverson of Princeton, NJ; son, Patrick and his wife Kristine (Aiello) Halverson of Rowley; sister, Diane Foley of Pittsford, NY; sister, Doreen Gillis of Oxford, FL; sister, Deborah and her husband Jim O'Leary of Cushing, ME; brother, Daniel Halverson of Palm Beach, FL; sister, Katherine King of Rockport; brother, Leonard Sharamitaro of North Port, FL; sister, Nina Rogers of Essex; sister, Alma Clancy of St. Augustine, FL; and brother, Sandy Sharamitaro of Gloucester.

David also leaves his in-laws, Helen Calver of Shrewsbury, England; Anne and David Walker of Stocksfield, England; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his in-laws, Walter and Edith Fretwell of Waltham, England; brother, Joseph Sharamitaro; brothers-in-law, Dick Foley of Pittsford, NY; George King of Rockport; and Mike Calver of Shrewsbury, England.

In accordance with David's wishes, there will be no funeral services. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
