Gloucester - Dorothy M. "Tot" (Hinchey) Haight, age 80, died in her sleep at home peacefully surrounded by her children following a brief illness. She was the wife of her beloved husband Richard "Dicky" Haight for over 62 years, who passed away in October. She was the daughter of the late Alton J. Hinchey and Mildred L. (Hanson) Doucette.
She worked at Strong Leather for many years, then Seafood Kitchens and Beacon Marine sewing marine products for the boaters. She also worked for CATA always talking with the riders.
She loved being with her late husband Richy. They loved swinging on the back deck and watching the birds, especially the hummingbirds. She loved swimming in the pool in the backyard for over 40 years and also swimming with her best friend, Charlotte Jennings, her brother, Jeff and his wife Pat at the Cape Ann Marina Pool in the winter when the weather was too cold to swim in the backyard. She enjoyed playing cribbage all the time with her other best friend, Crit Garron. She also loved playing cribbage at the Pilot House with friends. She used to bowl at the Cape Ann Bowling League. She was in charge of a lot of the events for the FMCA at the high school during fiesta. They camped for over 50 years with their friends having camped at Parker Forest with Joe, Indian Ranch, Gitche Gumee campground, and Grandview Campground with Pete and Gerry Silva and family. They traveled all over the country and their retirement plan was to travel coast to coast and they did just that. She loved boating in the Little River. She was a Boy Scout leader for a few years. Tot loved country music when country was country and playing guitar with friends. She looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and playing with them, it put a smile on her face from ear to ear. She loved all the hugs and kisses everyone gave her up until the end.

She will always be remembered as a happy go lucky friend and fine lady. We’ll miss her at our class luncheons.
