Gloucester - Dorothy L. (Gonsalves) Silva-Mourey, 99, of Gloucester, died on April 2nd. She was born in Woburn on June 24, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Joaquin Gonsalves and Matilda Gonsalves-Burns and was the beloved wife of the late William Mourey.

Dorothy was raised and educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School. In the 1950's, she moved to Gloucester where she would raise her family. In 1968 Dotty would meet her future husband Bill. Together they enjoyed gardening, hiking, skiing and taking trips including several cruises. She would go onto work many years doing data entry for companies such as Sears and H & R Block. During her retirement years, she enjoyed collecting stamps, painting and knitting. Her favorite pastime however was spending time with her large family and close friends.

A pillar of her family Dorothy's love ran deep through generations of family members and friends who affectionately knew her as "Nana".

Dorothy is survived by her children; Dorothy Babine, husband Donald, Alice "Frenchie Barry, husband Pat, Buster Silva, Dale Palazzola, husband Cliffy and her step-children Julie and Chris. She also leaves 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Henry Jardine, Daniel Gonsalves and Alice Davis; grandson Scott Barry, great granddaughter Kayleigh Rawls and stepson Billy.
