Gloucester - Dorothy M. (Williams) Silva, 86, of Gloucester, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2019, at Care One at Essex Park in Beverly. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles Silva. Born in Gloucester, she was the daughter of the late Ivan R. and Lucybelle (Smith-Bolcome) Williams. She was raised in Gloucester and was a graduate of Gloucester High School.
Mrs. Silva was a dedicated hard worker. She had been employed as a seamstress with the Beacon Marine Company and other local clothing outlets for many years. She worked at O'Donnell Usen Fisheries Corp as a packer. Dorothy was truly talented with arts and crafts and people adored her handmade holiday decorations. She enjoyed meeting her friends weekly for their Arts and Craft Club and she served proudly on the Poplar Park Board as well. Dorothy and her husband Charles were truly inseparable and were married for almost 50 years prior to his passing in 2001. They were avid campers and traveled all over New England with family and friends. Dorothy's family was the center of her life.
