Chelmsford, Ma. - Ellen Diane Lloyd was born on December 23, at Ft. Hood in Killeen, Texas. She was one of four daughters born to the late Jimmie L. and Ann ( Demogenes) Lloyd.

Ellen lived a military daughter's life, spending her formative years in Germany, and ultimately, living in Gloucester, Mass., when her dad ended his last military assignment, teaching ROTC at Gloucester High School. Ellen was instrumental in the start-up and operation of the family-owned Lloyd's Restaurant in Gloucester.

Ellen graduated from Gloucester High School, attended Lowell State College (now known as UMASS Lowell,) and also received her certification in Human Resources Management from Bentley College.

From 1984-1991 Ellen worked for Wang Laboratories, and was a trailblazer in the burgeoning, male-dominated tech industry, creating the future of computers with a company employing as many as 33,000 at one time. She worked as a Human Resource specialist in the Research and Development Division. Her next step was managing Human Resource Programs for Power Cube, a company that manufactured military and industrial power supplies.

She then went on to a stellar 23-year career spanning from 1993--2016 at the Career Center of Lowell. Ellen excelled as an employment counselor in workforce development and teaching interview and resume skills to job seekers at the Career Center. Ellen transformed thousands of lives personally by helping people see the best in themselves, and find jobs.

Ellen loved her family, she was dedicated, loving, and selfless. Ellen was a caring daughter, revering her parents, Jim and Ann. Ellen was both loving and loved. She was a ferocious reader, loved the Kennedy's, trivia, trips to Disney, Hawaii, and of course, Cape Cod.

She will be missed deeply, thought about often, and will be looking down, especially at the beach on those beautiful Cape Cod summer days.

She leaves behind her loving sisters and brother-in-law, Jane Lloyd, Patti Lloyd, and Christina Lloyd Carey and her husband Brian, whom she loved unconditionally; her four nephews, Alexander Gleason, Christopher, Nicholas, and Zachary Carey, whom she loved like her own children. Ellen leaves behind the Lloyd and Demogenes cousins, and many, many dear friends.

Relatives and friends will be received at the M.R. LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Thursday, November 7, from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral will take place on Friday, November 8, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home to be followed by a service at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 44 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, MA 01851, or to To Show We Care, 15 Dale Avenue #836, Gloucester, MA 01931.
