Gloucester - Gloucester - Gayle Anne (Mason), Sawyer 63, of Gloucester, MA, beloved wife of Scott Sawyer Sr. passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.


Born and raised in Gloucester, Gayle spent her life in the community she loved. She was the youngest of five children to the late Mason family.


Gayle had a warm heart and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in the simple and beautiful things, tending to her garden, caring for animals, traveling to explore new places, and spending countless hours with her family and friends.


Her laughter, kindness, and generosity brought happiness to many. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, and her warmth will live on in the countless memories she created with those around her.


Gayle is survived by her husband, Scott Sawyer Sr; devoted mother to Elizabeth Sawyer, Scott Sawyer Jr., and William Sawyer. She leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Josie, Quinten, and Elizabeth, who brought her endless joy and her siblings, Robin Babine, Mary Poole, Robert Mason, and Carlo Mason.


She is predeceased by her daughter, Elizabeth, who passed in 2002.


Gayle will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12noon. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend. Her burial will follow in Beechbrook Cemetery, 401 Essex Avenue, Gloucester, MA, where Gayle will be laid to rest.
