George C. Williamson Obituary
Gloucester - It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our beloved George C. Williamson, (Chipper). After a courageous and extended battle with Parkinson's disease, Saturday morning on March 14, 2026, he peacefully passed away at home with his daughter, Lucy and wife Molly at his side. He was a man of quiet strength, kindness and deep love for his family and friends.
George was born on September 26,1955 and had resided in Gloucester. George graduated from Gloucester High School and the University of Massachusetts and worked as a clammer and at many wonderful local businesses. Recently he retired from Gorton's of Gloucester.
George loved skiing, touring around in his trusty whaler, the Lucy Might – RMFYC, which was a gift from his father at the age of 16, sitting in the sun with friends, listening to country music and watching almost every western one could imagine, especially with Dwight the past few years and endless walks with his team Dougie, Stevie, Lansing, Dirt, Joey, John, Dwight, and everyone else who would stop by to enjoy a little visit in the sun and an outing with his rollator (ie his Cadillac). George's greatest passion was spending time with his family and loved friends. We are so extremely grateful for the visits with a few of his very best friends (Carl, thank you) during the week of March 7th.
George traveled quite a bit during his life with his mother Phyllis, father John, brother Kirk, high school classmates and many other dear friends over the years. His journeys to Tobago were truly some of the best memories. He leaves so many loved ones who have passed and still reside in Tobago. Long live the deep love that Tobago has showered George over the many years.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Molly, his daughter Lucy, and all that knew him.
Above all, he adored his daughter, Lucy, who was the center of his world. Their bond was filled with love and will live on in her heart.
We ask that you share stories and tears and laughter to continue his spark in this world.
George was predeceased by his father, John K. Williamson, and mother Phyllis R. Deering. He is survived by his wife, Molly Andrew Williamson, their daughter, Lucy, May Williamson and her longtime partner, Alden Tarr, brother Kirkham Williamson and his wife Janet, their sons John and Andrew, as well as loving cousins and endless friends.
A celebration of life will be held this summer during warmer weather as he would have wanted. Date to be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cape Ann Animal Shelter, or the Annisquam Village Church.
