Gerald J. Parady Obituary
Essex - Essex, MA – Gerald "Jerry" Parady passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Jerry was the son of the late Alfred W. and Ardrith (Morehouse) Parady.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 73 years, Paula Sophia "Sophie" (Pucci) Parady; his sister, A. Faye Brophy and her husband, Robert; his sons, Stephen Parady and his wife Darlene, and Charles Parady and his partner, Teri; and his daughter, Susan Parady. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Henry Parady, and his fiancée, Abigail, and Laura Parady, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 aboard the USS Conway during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he worked at the First National Store in Gloucester before beginning a career with the New England Telephone Company as an equipment installer.
He treasured the lifelong friendships he shared with the Movalli family of Gloucester. It was through those connections that he met the love of his life, Sophie, while she was spending the summer visiting her Movalli cousins. One of Jerry's great joys later in life was becoming neighbors and dear friends with Michael Ford and his wife, Gayle, while Michael's father, Gerald Ford, served as President of the United States.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred W. Parady Jr. and Clifton "Kip" Parady; his sisters, Shirley Saulnier, Evelyn Jeannette Harvey, Joyce Vickery, Margaret Bolduc, and Rose Lane; and his daughter-in-law, Jean Parady, who loved to joke with him.
Jerry will be laid to rest at Spring Street Cemetery in Essex, Massachusetts. All services will be private.
