Gloucester - Giacomo "Jack" Rallo, age 81, died peacefully on Sept. 27, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Gerardi) Rallo. Born in Marsala, Sicily, to the late Angelo Rallo and Vincenza (Polizzia) Rallo. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Jack served in the Italian Navy. He worked as a fisherman for many years on the Baby Rose, Vita Maria, Vito C, and the Italia. In addition, baked bread at Bertolino's Bakery.
He enjoyed spending time at the Elks, seeing his friends, and was a lifetime member.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine (Gerardi) Rallo; his father and mother, Angelo and Vincenza (Pollizia) Rallo; his father and mother-in-law, Vito and Rose (Bertolino) Gerardi; his brother, Nino Rallo; and his best friend and uncle, Uncle Buzzy Bertolino.
Surviving him is a daughter, Vincenza "Enza" Ciaramitaro and her husband Vito of Gloucester; a son, Angelo Rallo and his wife Sandra of Gloucester; eight grandchildren, Ninfa Ciaramitaro, Josephine Macdougall and her husband Phillip, Vito G. Ciaramitaro, Rose Ciaramitaro, Angela Rallo and her fiancé Andrew DiFronzo, Amber-Rose Rallo, Marlaina Rallo, Rachael Rallo; four great-grandchildren, Gabriella Amaral, David Amaral, Phillip Macdougall, Vanessa Macdougall; sister-in-law, Maria Rallo of Sicily; niece and nephew, Vincenza Rallo and Angelo Rallo, both of Sicily.
His funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish (St. Ann's Church), 60 Prospect Street, Gloucester, on Wed., Oct. 2, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester, on Tues., 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions may be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
