Gloucester - Mrs. Helen M. (Hart) Cameron, 77, of Gloucester passed away on Sunday morning, February 10, 2019, in Gloucester Health Care with her family at her side following a lengthy illness.

Helen was born August 10, 1941, in Gloucester, she is the daughter of the late Chester and Sarah (Byard) Hart. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester before retiring to Jenson Beach Florida. She is a graduate of Gloucester High School, class of 1959.

Helen worked for the Town of Rockport as a Clerk in the Treasurers Office for 15 years until her retirement. She started her career as a switchboard operator for Ma Bell, then moved onto O’Donnell Usen working as a secretary for the Seafood Kitchens office.

One of the many things her family and friends will remember is her poise and grace greeting people with a warm friendly smile. She, liked many Cape Ann residents enjoyed swimming, relaxing at the beach with a good book and visiting with friends.

She is survived by her son, Stephen H. Sheline of Gloucester; her brothers Nathaniel Hart and his wife Gloria of Hamilton, Frank C. Hart and his wife Ramona, who also took care of Helen for many years and Charles Marshall, all of Gloucester; her sister Mary Ann Silva and her husband Gene of Gloucester. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen is predeceased by her sisters Elizabeth Johnson, Jackie Ann Blake and Annie “Jean” Roberts.

Helen’s memorial service will be in Trinity Congregational Church, 70 Middle St., Gloucester, on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
