Jacqueline B. Lamb Obituary

Manchester-By-The-Sea - Manchester-By-The-Sea - Jacqueline Boeggeman Lamb, 72, of Manchester-by-the-Sea, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on December 14, 1952, in Darby, Pennsylvania, Jacqie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Joan (Geary) Boeggeman. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Lawrence Lamb, DVM, with whom she shared a marriage of 47 years marked by devotion, humor, and enduring partnership.

Jacqie spent her early childhood in Magnolia, falling in love with the seaside village that would always hold her heart and ultimately become her home. In her twenties, she taught a pre-veterinary program at Essex Agricultural Institute in Danvers, MA. It was at this time that she met her husband at a veterinary meeting, moving then to Waterbury Center, VT, where they operated an animal hospital from their farmhouse.

Over the course of their marriage, Jacqie and Larry built and operated three veterinary practices, including designing and building a first-of-its-kind veterinary facility called Ani-Mall in Montpelier, VT, which offered advanced surgery, a pet shop, and the first veterinary specialist services in Vermont. In 1993, she and Larry built the Manchester Animal Hospital, where, for over 30 years, she worked side-by-side with her husband, caring for the community's animals with compassion and offering her unique ability to research medical cases. During this time, Jacqie helped revitalize the Veterinary Association of the North Shore (VANS), breathing new life into the regional veterinary medical association that supports local veterinary professionals with monthly continuing-education meetings, networking, and scholarships.

A lifelong lover of nature and animals, Jacqie found joy in her garden—tending flowers, feeding the birds and squirrels, and creating beauty in the everyday. She was also a poet and a painter, drawing inspiration from the natural world and the people she loved.

Jacqie delighted in travel and discovery. She and Larry explored Africa on safari, ventured through India and Europe, and returned often to the Caribbean, where they spent extended time on Jost Van Dyke and Water Island. She cherished time in Scotland, walking with friends along the lochs and hills, enjoying the simple life and peaceful landscapes that spoke to her soul.

At home, she was a member of the Manchester Bath & Tennis Club for more than 30 years, where she enjoyed tennis and built a circle of lasting friendships. Magnolia, where she lived both as a child and later in life, remained her place of deepest connection—the beach, the sea air, and the community she loved.

Jacqie is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of Manchester-by-the-Sea; her son, Alexander Lamb and his wife Natasha of Manchester-by-the-Sea; her grandsons, James and Jonathan Lamb, who adored their "Nani."; and her step-daughter Leah Lamb of Hawaii; Her siblings also survive her: David Boeggeman and his wife, Mary of Beverly; Joan Lovely and her husband Steve of Salem; Joseph Boeggeman of Nebraska; and Susan Comeau and her husband, Rodney of Beverly. She leaves behind nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Manchester-by-the-Sea, on Saturday, September 20, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held earlier that day, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.

Jacqie will be remembered for her love of nature, her adventurous spirit, her gift for words, and the love she shared with her family, friends, and community. Donations in Jacqie's name may be made to the Veterinary Association of the North Shore at www.massvet.org/vans.

Condolences may be shared at www.campbellfuneral.com.
