Gloucester, MA - Bob grew up on a farm in Quincy, Calif. He served proudly in the Army flying helicopters in South East Asia prior to the Vietnam War. As a mechanical engineer, he worked for decades in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. He is survived by his wife Palmira Santos, their son Robert Allen and an older son Mike Allen; sister-in-law, Hilda Santos; brother-in-law Jeff Abrams; and his two nieces, Meaghan and Amanda Flannagan.
A special celebration of Bob's life will occur in March. Contact the family for specific information. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the research of his oncologist, Dr. Arnold Freedman, who provided extraordinary care to Bob for 20 years. So sorry for your loss. So many good memories of our time together in Alaska. Playing Acquire drinking single malt and burgers. Bob may be gone, however he will never be forgotten.

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Bob was such a fighter. I only got to see him at our 4th of July parties where he always shared such interesting stories about Alaska or his career or other topics. I will miss seeing him there. And of course we will all miss his chocolate chip cookies. 😊
