Gloucester - Captain Joseph ('Joe') A. Sinagra, age 72, of Weymouth, passed away at South Shore Hospital on January 27, 2026.

Born on November 21, 1953, in Gloucester, Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Patricia (Mitchell). The eldest of five, he grew up on Perkins Street and attended Gloucester High School. A lover of art, Joe honed a skill for drawing, capturing scenes of the waterfront and ocean. Joe worked on boats until he retired, as a fisherman and an engineer, and was passionate about sustainable fisheries.

Joseph is survived by his brothers, Frank and Anthony; sister, Julie Mackey; nieces and nephews Christopher, Amanda, Jennifer, Tori, Anthony and Bethany; children, Dominique, Elena and Tristan; granddaughters Constance and Daphne; and ex-wife Emily. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his sister, Victoria. Joseph is remembered as a caring big brother and friend to many.

A mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church in Gloucester in the spring.
