Kathryn W. Lordan Obituary

Gloucester - Kathryn Weinland Lordan passed away on Tuesday February 3, 2026, at her home on Cape Ann with her family by her side; she was 80 years old. Kathy was the daughter of Elizabeth Weinland and David E. Weinland (both deceased) and sister to John David Weinland (deceased). Kathy earned her bachelor's degree from Wheelock College in early childhood education. Kathy met her first husband, George Bowman, while working as a teacher. She subsequently married her husband, George P. Lordan Jr., in 1979. She and George were married for 45 years. Kathy is the beloved mother of five children: Christiana Lee Bowman (deceased), Joshua Lordan of Rockport, Elizabeth Lordan of Gloucester, Peter Lordan of Beverly, and Rebecca Lordan-Perret of Brugg, Switzerland. She is also the precious 'Oma' of six grandchildren, who she absolutely adored. Kathy was a true renaissance woman from her career singing in New York, to raising her children, to her active political participation, to her advocacy for social justice, to her lifetime pursuit of learning. Her open and curious personality surrounded her with wonderful friends from all different walks of life.

A Celebration of Life will be announced in June.
