Gloucester - Larraine (Cookie) Mitchell Milone, loving wife of Rosario (Roy) Milone, passed away surrounded by her family on July 25, 2026, at Seacoast Nursing Home. Born on March 6, 1942, in Gloucester, MA, she was the only child of the late Sylvia (Rocha) and Manual Mitchell. She was educated in the Gloucester school system and graduated from Gloucester High School, class of 1960. Upon graduation, she attended Cosmetology school at Essex County Homemaking School. She was then employed as a hairdresser at the House of Robel. In later years, she earned college credit while working as a Speech and Language Assistant at Fuller School.

Larraine met her true love at a school dance. They were married on April 27, 1963. The couple made their first home at Fort Benning, GA, where Roy was serving as an Officer in the US Military. Upon completion of his service, they returned and settled in Gloucester where they raised their three daughters,

Although Larraine was an only child, she was surrounded by loving family and friends. Her cousin, Chuck Mitchell, was like a brother to her, and her childhood best friend, Barbara Trogler, was the sister she never had.

Larraine was a member of both the Gloucester Fraternity Club and the DES Club. She was always involved with her daughters' activities, serving as the secretary of both the St Mel's PTO and the Gloucester High School Thespians, with whom she traveled to Germany, France, and Canada. For many years, she acted in productions with Theater in the Pines under the direction of Nan Webber and Margaret Eddie.

Larraine loved playing the witch as part of the Halloween haunted house that her family held for years at their Cherry Street home. She enjoyed traveling, first with her family, and in later years with her beloved Newport girls. Her Portuguese heritage was important to her and she was fortunate to have visited with her husband. She also had the opportunity to spend several weeks in Sicily with her husband and children visiting where Roy was born and raised.

Larraine leaves behind her love, Roy of 64 years, her daughters, Nanci Milone Hill and her partner Robert Imhof of Framingham, Silvia and husband, Peter Martin, of Gloucester, Lori-ann and husband Orlando Pacehco of Rockport, and a special daughter, Yvonne Andersson of Sweden; four grandchildren, Sarah White and husband Nick, and their daughter Mila Larraine, Molly Martin her partner Nick MacDonald, all of Gloucester and Jacob and Joshua Giamanco of Rockport.

She was predeceased by her cousin, Chuck Mitchell, as well as her sister by heart, Barbara Trogler. In addition, she was predeceased by her in-laws, Nunziata and Stephano Milone, Mary and Steve Russo, Phyllis and Vito Quince, and Vincenzo (Jimmy) and Ann Milone, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 31st from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 1st at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester, MA. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
