Rockport - Leslie A. (Forsyth) Schaefer, 64, of Rockport, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, July 17, 2019 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was the beloved wife of Stephen A. Schaefer.
Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Gurney and Beverly (Norman) Forsyth. Leslie was raised and educated in Somerville and attended Emerson College in Boston.
Mrs. Schaefer enjoyed being an active member and volunteer for the Rockport United Methodist Church. She also was a talented scrap booker and was known for making the most beautiful handmade cards. Leslie truly loved her family and cherished all the moments she spent with them.
In addition to her husband Stephen, with whom she shared 32 years of marriage, she is survived by three daughters, Gabrielle Leavitt of NH, Kimberly Perry of Hingham and Rachael Perry of Rockport; one grandchild, Riley Russell; sisters Jane and husband Michael Murray of Lynn; and Lynn and husband Rick Gazunis of Georgetown; brothers, Wayne and wife Cathy Forsyth of Amesbury and Mark Forsyth of Portland, Maine; brother-in-law, Donald W. Schaefer of Merritt Island, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Barbara and husband Michael Pasqualichio of Clarks Summit, Pa. Judy and husband Charles Gregg of Plymouth, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the daughter-in-law of the late Frank W. and Helen A. Schaefer.



Her Funeral Service will be held at the Rockport United Methodist Church, 36 Broadway, Rockport on Friday (today), July 19, 2019 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leslie's name to the Rockport United Methodist Church, for care of the gardens. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.
