Gloucester - Gloucester - Lois Joy Levine died peacefully Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Addison-Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, MA.

Loie was born in Gloversville, NY, on March 10, 1953, the fourth child of Edmund J. and Frances T. Levine, "the long awaited girl."

She moved to Boston in her 20s for college. Loie and a friend started their own company, Dollface Originals, showing her creativity and drive. After changing careers in 1981, she met her future wife, Beverly McKean, moved to Gloucester and had a great life.

Loie was loved. Known for her creativity, kindness, cooking, humor, fun spirit, sewing skills, love of animals, legendary parties and her loving relationship with Bev. Loie and Bev appeared onstage with "A Lovely Bunch Coconuts" at the Grange, loved living on Little River, boating with Miss Otis, getting together with friends, playing poker and mahjong. They fostered several hundred kittens for Cape Ann Animal Aid, and ended up with three cats, "foster fails," too special to give back. She loved living in Gloucester.

Loie was very proud of BeLo the Sea Treasures, an authentic seaglass jewelry and craft business. Bev had an eye for sea glass, while Loie taught herself how to make beautiful wire-wrapped seaglass jewelry.

She is survived by her wife, Beverly McKean, brother Paul (Valerie) Levine, nieces, nephews and cousins in NY, MI, PA, MA and FL, Bev's brothers, Bruce (Amy) and John (Linda) McKean, as well as countless wonderful friends. Special thanks to the exceptional staff at the Senior Adult Unit at AGH.
