Gloucester - Gloucester - Margaret "Peggy" Danahy, 74 of Gloucester, died on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

Born in Tewksbury on Sept 29, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Florence Danahy.

Peggy lived her life on her terms. She lived loudly, bravely, and unapologetically. Peggy lit up every room she walked into, sometimes quite literally with the sparkle she wore. She gave the world everything she had and held nothing back.

Peggy will be most remembered for her authenticity and lack of patience. She was a hurricane of personality wrapped in rhinestones. She was sweet, sassy, kind, rude, quiet, loud, and loving. She unapologetically expressed her true feelings at every moment. She would blow kisses and raise her fist equally. She was hysterical without trying because she had blunt honesty with no filter. She was soft rock, heavy metal, smooth jazz, blues, and punk rock all wrapped into one amazing package.

Peggys most treasured things in life were jewelry, manicures, getting her way, teen boy idols, onion rings, chocolate iced coffee, balloons, flowers, stickers, any type of tchotchkes and Christmas year-round. She had her own style that no one could match if they tried. She could make anything into a sticker with a little scotch tape, turn any item into a necklace or bracelet with a little string, turn walls into layered artwork, and created some very coveted Pegcasso's. Essentially, she Peggified everything around her.

Rest in peace sweet sassy girl and know that more people than you could imagine genuinely loved you and we all know that you liked us too.

Peggy is predeceased by some very close friends. Jim Reid, John Braucher, Marybeth Barnjum and Eileen Doherty.

Peggy also leaves behind some very special people. Judy Kurto, Maureen Costello, Tim Brown, Cathie Stuart, John Weiss, Carol Seiminski, Jeannie LoCicero, Michelle Molloy, Julie Parisi, The Gerena family Brian, Piera, Brian Jr, Antonio, and Luca, Aggie and Franco Groppo, Sean and Wendy Doherty, all of her friends from Topsfield House, and her most dear people Ella Anderson and Karen Longo.

Her funeral service will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester, on Saturday, June 28th at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In honor of Peggy, we ask that you come wearing colorful attire as Peggy was the most colorful person we all knew. Burial will be at Dolliver Memorial Cemetery, Gloucester.
