Gerry lived a fulfilling life surrounded by family and friends.
Beginning in 1955, she and Raphie ran several family businesses including the Coffee Cup, Surfside Softee on Long Beach, Friend Street Market and ultimately, the Yellow Sub Shop. Gerry was known for her unique sense of humor and she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially pool parties in the backyard. She was a religious education teacher and an active member of the Women's Guild at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Gerry was predeceased by her parents, Esther and Jack Lawler and Carl McCollum, her sister Sandra Olson, her son, Raphael D. Oliver Jr. and his wife Deborah, and Carl McCollum, Jr. Left to cherish her memories are her husband Raphael "Raphie" Oliver Sr.; her daughter, Renee Nicastro and her husband Joseph A. III and Kristin Nicastro of Cumberland, RI; Blakely and Andrew Calabrese of Danvers, MA and Kaicia and Jay Pratt of Gloucester; grandchildren, Nina and Steve Gordon of Flower Mound, Texas, Raphael D. Oliver III of Quincy MA; and Gilbert R. Oliver of Denton, Texas. Gerry's 13 great-grandchildren; Tessa, Joseph IV and Carolina Nicastro; Andrew IV and Lorenzo Calabrese; Peyton, Kyla, Kamryn and Piper Pratt; Brooklyn and Delilah Gordon and Scarlett and Cordelia Oliver. It is with great sadness that we have lost another cherished member of our family. Living in Florida did not allow us to see Aunt Gerry much, but we have fond memories of our time together in Gloucester (especially at the sub shop). Our love, prayers, and support go out to the family, but faith will have us all together again.

Sending you all my love and prayers. I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye to another so soon. 💔 Wish we could be there to give hugs and celebrate Gerry's memory. She was a special lady, who raised a special son Raphael who married my sister Debby. Together they enjoyed so many laughs and love. And now they are all together again in peace and free from any pain. I am so thankful for the hope of heaven to reunite one day. My son Josh had made a few trips back east in recent years and came to love Raphie and Gerry. I'm so glad he got to experience Gloucester and our family there. Especially with this generation leaving us. Breaks my heart. Love you family. ❤️

Jerry's sister, Sandy, would bring me to Gloucester (before I married)for family weekends. There was always a party of some type going on. I have fond memories of Jerry (she liked bingo) and the kindness she showed me. I even helped at some of the food ventures in Rockport and Wingaersheek Beach so family could attend weddings, etc. My love to all the family. Carl
