Mary A. Sears Obituary

Gloucester - It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Mary Ann Sears, of Gloucester, on July 31, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born and raised in Gloucester, Mary was deeply connected to the community she proudly called home throughout her life. She will be remembered for her kind heart, quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her greatest joy came from her family and the time she spent with the people she loved most.

She also found great happiness in her work at Russell's Florist, where she truly loved helping others celebrate life's special moments. She enjoyed the friendship she made with her coworkers and customers over the years.

Mary Ann is survived by her former husband, David Sears; her devoted son, Zachary Sears and wife Heather; cherished grandchildren, Madeline Ann and Xander Angus, who brough immeasurable joy to her. Her loving sisters, Patricia Goulart and Sally Cote; brothers-in-law Michael Goulart and Ernest Cote; beloved niece Heather Houser; nephews Michael Goulart Jr., and his wife Andrea, their children Henry and Quinn, and James Goulart, his wife Jennifer, and their children Elliot, Nicholas and Thomas. She is also survived by her closest cousins, Trina Francis, Christine Donnellon, and Denise Collins; close and dearest friends Glenn Lander and Kara Carter Campbell, whose friendship and companionship meant so much to her. She also leaves behind extended family and friends, who will miss her deeply.

She was predeceased by her parents Madeline (Frontiera) and Angus Hinckley.

Mary's warmth and compassion and unwavering love for her family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, her memory will continue to live on through the love she shared, the kindness she showed and the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
