Beverly - Michael R. Dolph, 74, of Beverly and, more recently, North Andover, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Mike graduated from Wellesley High School in 1971, where he ran cross-country and discovered a lifelong love of travel on class trips to Spain and Italy. He later attended Cambridge Junior College, earning an associate degree.

Mike built a career defined by loyalty and dependability, spending 20 years at Terminal Freight as a proud member of Teamsters Local 25 before another 20 years with IDX Systems Corporation.

Some of Mike's happiest days were spent at Conomo Point in Essex, where his family summered for generations. An accomplished boatman, he loved boating, fishing, and exploring the waters of Cape Ann, ferrying family to Crane Beach, cruising Gloucester Harbor, and introducing others to the places he loved.

Golf was a lifelong passion. For more than 25 years, he played in the men's league at Cape Ann Golf Club, treasured annual golf trips with close friends, and looked forward to winter rounds in Longboat Key, Florida. He was equally devoted to Boston sports and rarely missed reading The Boston Globe sports pages or following the NCAA Frozen Four.

Those who knew Mike best knew that curiosity was his defining trait. Whether wandering the side streets of Beijing, navigating the waters off Cape Ann, or studying a Sunday PGA leaderboard from his wicker chair beside his father, Larry, Manhattans in hand, Mike found genuine joy in discovering something new. During a memorable trip through China with his mother and brother in 1984, he often slipped away from the tourist sites to explore neighborhoods and markets on his own, returning with stories, calligraphy pens, postcards, and other small treasures that reflected his fascination with people and places.

Mike loved history, music, and conversation. He had an eclectic record collection, an encyclopedic memory for sports, and a quiet, dry wit that often caught people by surprise. He never sought attention, but his kindness, gentle spirit, and thoughtful nature made him someone family and friends naturally gravitated toward. He was happiest sharing a day on the water, a round of golf, a good story, or simply spending time with the people he loved.

Mike was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Patricia (Connell) Dolph. He is survived by his siblings, James (Linda), Mary Jane Given (Peter), Anthony (Mary Feeley), Patricia Fallon (Michael), and Sarah Mahan (James), along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Mike will be remembered not for any single accomplishment, but for the quiet way he lived—with curiosity, humility, generosity, and gratitude. His family will think of him whenever they tee off on a favorite course, head out on the waters of Cape Ann, hear a favorite song, or find themselves exploring an unfamiliar road simply to see where it leads.
