Michele A. Balistreri Obituary

Gloucester - Michele A. (Beauregard) Balistreri, 69 of Gloucester MA, passed away on January 6th surrounded by loved ones. Born in Flushing, NY to the late Harry and Diane (Wilensky) Beauregard, she was the beloved wife of 44 years to Mario Balistreri. She was a graduate of West Allegheny High School in PA, Class of 1974.

Michele was the heart of her family and a true matriarch to all who knew her. Known for her fantastic cooking, her home was always open to everyone, especially on holidays and for other celebrations.

She was a Bookkeeper for several local businesses during her career, as well as co-owner of the former Circle B Trucking Company and current Balistreri Painting. Though not Italian by birth, she became a cherished part of the Italian and Sicilian community. She embraced the culture fully and was known for helping everyone, and treating friends and neighbors like family. She will be remembered for her generosity, strength, and the many lives she touched. The family would like to express a special thank you to Michele's niece Leslie Makin and her daughter Nadia Balistreri for their dedication to and special care of Michele the last several months.

She is survived by her husband, Mario Balistreri of Gloucester; one son, Sasha Balistreri and his wife, Shaina of Gloucester; one daughter, Nadia Balistreri of Gloucester; three brothers, Marc Beauregard and wife, Debra of Gloucester, Alan Beauregard and his partner, Daryl Saunders of Brooksville, FL, Lauren Beauregard of Largo, FL; two grandchildren, Dana and Asher; one special aunt, Giuseppa Sanfilippo; four brothers-in-law, Pietro Balistreri and his wife, Maria, Antonio Balistreri and his wife, Nunzia, Francesco Balistreri, and his wife, Mariella, Giuseppe Balistreri and his partner, Nancy; three sisters-in-law Antonia Costa, and her husband Vito, Ana Pinello and her husband, Francesco, Maria Aiello and her husband, Giuseppe and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her father-in-law, Salvatore Balistreri, mother-in-law, Carmela Balistreri and one sister in-law, Catarina Balistreri, three special aunts, Elena DiMaio, Marcia Wilensky Schafer, and Susan Wilensky Hartley.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church, 74 Pleasant Street, Gloucester on Saturday, January 10th at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior at that church from 9am to 10am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery immediately following.
