Gloucester - Gloucester - Moira (McKenzie) Jones, 72, died Saturday, July 12, at home, in Gloucester, MA. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Jones, and her parents, Robert and Priscilla McKenzie.

She leaves behind her son, Kyle Jones (Suzanne Salgado) of Washington, D.C., her daughter Jillian French of Gloucester, and her grandchildren Grayson, Madelyn, and Thomas French of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Maribel Jones of Washington, D.C. She also leaves her siblings in Connecticut, Deborah of East Hartford, Andrew (Kimberly Neild) of Broad Brook, and Glynis of East Hartford, and her bassett hound, Ruth.

Moira grew up in East Hartford, CT, graduating from East Hartford High School in 1970. She then attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY, graduating in 1974. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Cape Ann, MA, where she met her husband, Tom. They were married in 1977, and drove each other just the right amount of crazy until his death in 2018.

In her younger years, Moira drove a Good Humor truck, and worked for Connecticut institutions Lerner's and Hit or Miss. After college, she worked for companies such as Philip Morris, Playtex, Duracell, and Gillette. She loved her dogs (Graham, Caspian, Digory, and Ruth) and cats (Osi, Sohi, Flash, Silvie, Goldie, and Winnie); boating and beaching with her family; spoiling her grandchildren as "Grammy"; great meals across the North Shore with the likes of the Bidwells, Sayesses, and her delightful dinner party collective; and travelling, including frequent trips to Europe, Islesboro and Hiram Blake Camp in Maine, Florida to visit her friends the Graydens, and various sailing adventures with her second family, the Mezgers.

Arrangements will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moira's name to St. John's Episcopal Church in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and/or the Hope and Friendship Metastatic Breast Cancer Foundation in Wilmington, MA.
