Gloucester - Onni R. Korpi, 90, of Gloucester, husband of the late Helen A. (Aikens) Korpi passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Rockport, MA on June 19, 1935, son of the late John J. and Iiri (Knuttunen) Korpi.

Onni was a graduate of Rockport High School, Class of 1953.

He was a self-taught carpenter, having worked on Cape Ann his entire life. He began his career working for the Straitsmouth Inn and Cameron & Hogan before starting his own business, Onni Korpi & Sons in 1983 until his retirement in 20215 at the age of 80.

He enjoyed camping and travelling, especially to his favorite place, Aruba.

Onni was a devout Catholic attending Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society being past President and Imperator. He did the collections at the 7:00 a.m. Mass for many years.

Onni is survived by his son, Randy Korpi and his companion Linda Campbell; grandson, Jason Korpi; great-grandson, Jake Korpi; his brother, John Korpi and daughter-in-law, Denise Korpi.

He was predeceased by his son, Bruce Korpi; brother, George Korpi; sister, Sylvia Makkonen and daughter-in-law, Deborah Leaf.

Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at Our Lady of Good Voyage Church at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Burial will be held in Beechbrook Cemetery, Gloucester.
