Gloucester, MA - Patricia A. (Robichaud) Gibbs, 86, of Gloucester, wife of Richard James Gibbs Sr. passed away at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, with her loving and devoted family by her side. Pat was born in Gloucester on March 22, 1933, and was the daughter of the late John J. and Rachel F. (Fialho) Robichaud. She attended and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1951.
Pat was a Pre-School Teacher at Majestic Harbor School/Woodland Place for 25 years. Pat would work with children individually for days, weeks or even months until they mastered a concept. All her students lovingly referred to her as "School Grammy." Her love of children was evident as she ensured their academic success while providing a loving, caring environment. Pat and her husband Dick loved to travel with their large group of friends. Their love of adventure and life was a testament to their devotion to each other.
They enjoyed a decade of dance with the Gloucester Skippers with their many friends. She was a very gifted watercolor artist and incredibly creative in whatever she put her mind to doing. A devout Catholic, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Voyage Church and a member of the Our Ladies Guild.
Patricia is survived by her four children, Richard James Gibbs Jr. and his wife, Joanne, Ronald Gibbs and his wife, Maria, Cheryl Gibbs-Parsons, Beth Costanzo and her husband Anthony. Patricia had 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Her services are being held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any contributions be made in her memory to: Friends of Seacoast, 292 Washington St. Gloucester, MA 01930. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester. Online condolences may be given at:
