Patricia M. "Pat" Marino Obituary

Gloucester - Patricia Maryellen (Buckley) Marino, fondly known as Pat, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Ipswich, MA, at the age of 85. Born in Everett, MA, on July 18, 1940, to Arthur and Elaine (Gamache) Buckley, Pat led a fulfilling life marked by dedication to her family and her nursing career.

Pat graduated from Malden Catholic High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Tony in 1959. They lived in Gloucester where they raised their five children. In 1984, they built their dream home, a log cabin, in Hamilton.

She pursued her career in nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1978. She started her nursing career at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester and then was employed by Family Medicine in Manchester with Dr. Gregory Bazylewicz. Her compassion and commitment to patient care were evident in her daily interactions and the deep connections she forged with those she served.

Outside of her professional life, Pat was an avid card player, enjoying many cherished moments with her close friends Mary, Maureen, Ro Ro, Beverly, Janet, Judy, and Paula.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband Tony and visited many destinations including Alaska, Hawaii, and Mexico. Pat also enjoyed vacationing, dancing, and spending time with her close friends Rachel and Merle Getchell and Don and Jane Harris. Her love extended beyond her friends to her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored and cared for deeply.

Pat leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children: Anthony J. Marino Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Chelmsford, Richard Marino and his wife, Maggie of DeLeon Springs, Florida, Carlene Marino of Gloucester, and Robert Marino and his wife, Kate of Ipswich. She was a proud grandmother to Anthony, Christopher, and Allyssa Marino, Jennifer Curley, Paul Marino Jr., Katelyn Deschene, Grace Marino, Alaina Marino, Alexandra and Violet Marino. Pat also leaves behind six great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dear cousin Barbara Crowley and her four children, whom she loved dearly.

Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony J. Marino; her son, Paul Marino; her sister, Carol Cooper; and her parents.

Pat's life was a testament to her loving nature and her enduring commitment to her family and friends. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those she touched.
