Gloucester, MA - Patricia A. (Smith) Wheaton, 84, wife of the late William W. Wheaton, recently of Gloucester, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in the Seacoast Nursing Home.
Patricia was born in Lynn, MA on September 20, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Harry and Isabelle (Brazell) Smith. She graduated from Lynn English High School with the class of 1953. Pat lived in Lynn for much of her life but also settled in Alton Bay, NH for many years and had a residence in the Danville/Sandown, NH area. She loved camping with her family and enjoyed the Kancamagus area as well as the Harold Parker Reserve and camping spots throughout NH and ME. She took time to read her mystery romance novels and liked working in her kitchen, baking lots of goodies. Growing up in Lynn there were always cats and dogs underfoot. Pat was a very social person and found it very easy to nurture new friendships. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Charles W. Wheaton and his wife, Lois of Gloucester, Thomas A. Wheaton and his wife Betty of Lynn; her two brothers Lawrence Smith of Virginia, Kenneth Smith of Lynn, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband William.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no visiting hours. Her graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Meetinghouse Cemetery on Rt. 111A in Danville, NH. Family and friends are cordially invited. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. at the Azorean Restaurant, 133 Washington St. Gloucester, MA. Arrangements are by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester. Online condolences may be given at:

I am so sorry to hear of Pat’s passing . She was a very special , kind lady who I met at the campground and became instant friends. We will miss her cooking and her friendship. My sincere condolences to her family.

Pat was a very special Lady and person to me when I was growing up. My cousin married her son and we became family. Pat was the best mother in law, and greatest nana to my cousins family ever. Pat you will be sadly missed and always in our hearts. Love Jackie and Shane
