Paul F. Scola
He was born in Gloucester on March 22, 1948, son of Margaret T. (Villari) Scola and the late Capt. Sebastian A. Scola.
Paul attended Gloucester High School, receiving his GED and later attended school for Plumbing.
He owned and operated Scola Plumbing and Heating for many years before retiring. Paul was very involved with the Pace program and also enjoyed going to the Rose Baker Senior Center, where he would enjoy meeting many of his friends there. He also would hang with the gang every morning at McDonald's for coffee and a bit of joking around. Paul was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam War.
Paul always had a positive attitude about life and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Paul is survived by his son, Sebastian Scola and his wife Nicole MacLeod of North Reading; his daughters, Joanne Scola and her partner Mark Mitchell of Gloucester, Nancy Scola and her partner Jeff Roberts of Tannersville, New York; his mother, Margaret Scola of Gloucester; grandchildren, Sebastian and Sofia Scola, Samantha Scola, Mark Mitchell Jr., Noah Scola, Jordan Mitchell, Iris Carter, Autumn Carter and Xavier Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Lucas, Caleb, Gabriella and a little girl on the way; two sisters, Jacqueline Dort and her husband James and Theresa Boudrow, all of Gloucester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Joanne Scola; and his brother-in-law, David Boudrow.
His funeral will be held from the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Thursday, November 14, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. The burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester.
Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home will be held on Wednesday, November 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Cape Ann Veterans Services, City Hall, 9 Dale Avenue, Gloucester, MA 01930. Please make checks payable to Veterans Services.
