Paula E. Foster Obituary

Gloucester - Paula E. (Hersey) Foster, 72, of Gloucester, passed away early morning of Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Kaplan Hospice in Danvers. Paula was born on June 20th, 1953, to Cheever "Larry" Hersey and Rita (Baker) Hersey.


A lifelong Gloucester resident, she graduated GHS class of 1971 and received her secretarial certification from Wyndham Secretarial School. Paula spent most of her working life with local companies, most notably; Strong and Cutter, Yankee Fleet, JKM Systems, Beauport Hotel, and Cape Ann Whale Watch.

Paula is predeceased by her parents, her first husband Raymond Foster, her son-in-law James Ayube, many wonderful friends, and her beloved dogs Kelsey, Murphy, and Riley.


Paula is survived by husband Michael Giacalone of Gloucester, daughter Lauren Ayube of Salem, sister Linda Hersey of Gloucester and granddaughter Harper Yakaitis (Ray and Lindsay, Old Saybrook CT).

Per Paula's wishes there will be no wake or funeral. Instead, a Celebration of Life will be planned for a future time.
