Needham, MA - Phyllis M. (Walen) Chianciola, 95, died peacefully on August 10, 2019, in Needham, Mass. Phyllis was the wife of the late Captain Ben Chianciola whom she was married to for 69 years. She was born in Gloucester on November 19, 1923, and was a lifelong resident. She is survived by her daughter, Regina Hussey and her husband Peter of Needham, Mass., and their children Abigail Mcintyre and Peter Hussey Jr.; son, Joseph Chianciola and wife Trudy of Southwick, Mass., and boys Cory, Jared and Brady Chianciola and Kyle Johnston; son, Gerald Chianciola and Beth Chianciola of Gloucester and children Ben Chianciola and Yeccel Rodriguez; her sister Sally Sandstrum and husband Philip of The Villages, Florida, and their children Eric and Craig Sandstrum and Lynnel Curry. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.

A visiting hour will be held on Friday, August 16, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester. Family and friends are cordially invited. Her funeral Mass will follow and be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish, Gloucester at 11 a.m. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
