Gloucester - Raymond R. Brien, 55, of Gloucester, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at the Addison Gilbert Hospital.
He was born in Gloucester on September 18, 1963, son of Thomas R. Brien and the late Susan M. (Giamanco) Brien.
Ray attended Gloucester Schools. He was a hard-working fisherman who had a great passion and love for the ocean. Ray enjoyed doing activities with his family, playing pool with his work friends and truly loved watching the 4th of July parade and fireworks.
His family and friends will truly miss him.
Ray is survived by his wife, Jodi Brien; his son, J.R. Brien; his sister, Donna Brien; his brother, Michael Brien; two step-children, Jena Moulton and Jody Silva; two nephews, Christopher Brien and Louis Brien; great-nephew, Anthony; uncle, Joseph Giamanco and his wife Linda and his canine companion, Lucy.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Raya Lisa Brien; his mother, Susan M. Brien and his aunt, Connie Giamanco.

His memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Ann's Church, Holy Family Parish on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family c/o Michael Brien, 8 Young Avenue, Gloucester, MA 01930.

I’m sorry for your brother Michael. He was a great fisherman, him and you helped teach me how to fish on The Jeromi with my grandfather and uncle when I was a little kid. I will never forget him. God bless your family and his.
