Raymond D. Burke Obituary
Rockport - Raymond D. Burke, 82, of Rockport, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Cambridge, MA on January 12, 1943, to Clarence and Helen Burke, he was raised in Arlington, and cherished summers spent in Lanesville with family. In his later years, he made his way back to Cape Ann, where he raised his children and called home for nearly forty years.
He graduated from Boston College in 1964 and then served as a medic in the U.S. Army Reserves. He traveled, worked briefly as a social worker, then made his way into the banking business, working as a Senior Vice President for many years before his retirement in 2009.
As a younger man, he loved to sail, and cherished his boat, The Sea Wolf. He was an integral part of the Cabot Street Cinema Theater in Beverly for many years, and loved to attend Boston College football games and tailgate with friends.
He will be remembered for his love of staying active at the Fitness Zone in Gloucester, spending time with friends over lunch, and being a devoted presence at his grandsons' sporting events.
Raymond is survived by those who loved him most: his daughters, Shannon Miller & Kayla Burke; grandchildren, Jason & Connor Miller; former wife & longtime friend, Maureen Burke; and many family members and friends who will miss him deeply.
A celebration of his life will take place at a later date in 2026. Details will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers.
