Rockport - Raymond N. Jenness passed away surrounded by his children. Born to Raymond and Avis (Delano) Jenness, Ray grew up in Hatfield, MA. and attended Williston Academy, Brown University, and the University of Connecticut. He taught at high schools and a junior college for 40 years.
Ray's lifelong passion was theater. He was a founding member of the Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe (CAST) and founded the Vermont Theatre Company, where he served as its inaugural artistic director. Ray was predeceased by his parents and sister, Judy (Jenness) Skeen. He is survived by his children David and Andrea (Kalan) Jenness, Elizabeth (Jenness) and Al Burge, and Amy Jenness, brother-inlaw Jerry Skeen, and extended family.
