Revere, MA - Richard (Ricky) Alden Adams passed away peacefully on October 8 at the Tippitt Hospice Home in Needham, Mass. He was 61 years old.
Ricky was born at Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, Mass., on August 6, 1958. Ricky grew up in Magnolia and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. After seeing St. Ann's Marching Band in the Rose Bowl Parade in 1965, Rick developed a passion for music and spent several years playing the trumpet with St Ann's Marching Band in many local parades and events. Ricky loved animals, especially horses, and for many years owned and boarded his favorite horse Flicker at the Stable at the end of Pond Street in Essex. He loved riding his horse around the woods, especially at Alewife Brook and Chebacco Lake. He also entered many competitions at Myopia Hunt Club.
After moving from Gloucester, Ricky lived primarily in and around the greater Boston area eventually living in Revere with his partner Jim Ackerman.
Ricky was loved by many friends and family, and will be greatly missed, especially by his partner Jim and best friend John Catino.
Ricky is survived by his father Raynor Adams Sr.; his brother Ray Adams Jr. and his wife Dawn (Shatford) Adams, and their children Danielle and Jeffrey Mucciarone, Tammy and Ernie Aiguier, Ray Adams III and Tiffany Adams, and Derek and Julie Adams; his step-sister Kelly and Norman Townsend, and their daughter Hannah; his step-brother John Yeomans; and sons Christopher and Derek and his partner Jim Ackerman; as well as seven great-nieces and -nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved mother Sandra M. Adams and his step-mother Barbara Adams.

Dear Jim, I am so very sorry for your loss. Ricky was a wonderful friend. we shared many adventures in our youth, usually with animals, mainly horses. Although we lost touch I always thought of him and you with love.
